Heirlooms and Lace

A journey that started by happenstance is how I got here today. I guess you could say the wedding industry is sort of ingrained. My Grandfather was a wedding & event photographer during his time here on earth. I grew up around some sort of camera or video in my life. However, I never dreamed I would be here.

My journey in the wedding industry started when I was 18 years old. My best friend in high school was getting married. She didn't know where to start and didn't have time between work and college courses to plan her wedding. I jumped in quickly and started planning it from scratch. That led to many other weddings & events. I got involved myself in different college event boards, planned sorority recruitment events and eventually it all led me back to a job after college in marketing events. All while I still planned or coordinated weddings on the side.

I married my best friend and travel partner in July 2011, and he gifted me that day with my very first DSLR camera. That took me on a journey of workshops, courses and learning on my own. The real muse came into our lives in August of 2013, as a gorgeous beautiful little girl. When Adelaide was born our worlds were turned upside down. I was constantly in awe of how fast she was growing and how fast time was going by. I began capturing her every month and challenged myself to try new techniques, new set-ups and to just get out of the box.

That little daily and month activity landed me my first high school senior session. That led to a few family friends and eventually things bloomed from there. My business grew quickly, where within 5 years I was able to leave my full time and then part time job to make the leap to chase a dream I didn't even know I had. Now I can't imagine doing anything else!

My Journey to today....

My Journey to today....

From the day your engagement ring goes on, you start envisioning what your wedding day will look like! While your wedding day is going to be the main focus: the people, the events of the day your partner. You pour hours sometimes days in to ALL the details. Whether it's your invitation suite, Jimmy Choos, Maggie Sottero lace gown, signature cocktail signs, customized cigars or all the fun add-ons for guests I appreciate each and every single item you choose.

No matter what your ceremony looks like, just after you say "I Do" there is an elevated feeling of happiness that spreads from the front row to the back. You're happy to finally be married, but your friends and family are just as excited to celebrate with you! My top favorite photo is to grab you coming down the aisle either celebrating or grabbing an extra kiss!

The moments right after "I do"

Through the planning process we will build a timeline that ensures the important and typical wedding stuff gets captured: getting ready, first look with dad or your soon to be spouse, the ceremony, reception, wedding party photos and couple photos. But what really takes your day to the next level and ALWAYS ends up being my favorite part of a wedding day are the unplanned sentimental, emotional, or joyful moments we can't plan. In this case one of my favorite images to date is this grandpa getting so emotional seeing his Granddaughter.

The Unexpected
and unplanned moments

There isn't anything more fun than a dance floor filled with all the people you love. For me it's like being on the general admission floor of a great concert. 99% of the time I will be jamming along with you, grabbing shots of you and your best friends jumping up and down singing Taylor Swift or Whitney Houston at the top of your lungs. Adding in some fun glow sticks, foam glow tubes, or confetti just adds to the fun. I always recommend my couples be the ones to open the dance floor and have their top two favorite songs played right away to get the party started!

MY FAVORITE MOMENTS

WEDDING DAY

I desire to bring your love of high-end details, real life moments big or small, and memories celebrating with your loved ones, together into a beautiful story told through images. I believe with trust, honesty and the clarity of a well-constructed timeline, it allows us to capture all the important events of the day, and also ensures time is given to capture the ones that happen naturally and in-between. Your wedding day isn't just about the formal moving pieces, but about the whole picture. From the location and venue selection to the type of votive candle holders chosen for cocktail hour, your day encompasses a wide range of emotions, details and more that should be captured in a way that tells your own individual wedding day story, because no two wedding days are ever the same.

Nicole + Spencer

"I have never felt so comfortable with someone so quickly, and having her there was like having one of my closest friends. Her passion for her job is inspiring and I cannot wait to continue to have her capture important moments for our new family!"

"Ashley has captured major moments in my family's life: our first born, holidays, baby milestones, and now our wedding... She has the skill of capturing a family's quirks, happiness, and authentication. She values you and incorporates your specific personality and shows it in her photos. She provides the highest amount of dedication to ensure you have the best photos. She shows this same dedication even when she faces obstacles and always puts client needs first. I could go on for days, but seriously just book her. You won't be disappointed. We love you Ash! ❤
